After picking out a bunch of personal favorites from Justin & Melanie’s beautiful wedding for the sneak peek, I decided to do something very bold (for me at least) and go almost exclusively to black & white on all the images.
I’m really happy with what that did as a whole and it seems as though black & white is becoming a habit of mine. Almost anytime I try something in black & white, I fall in love with it and decide to leave it that way. Some of my shoots are even designed to only be presented in black & white, though these are usually model shoots (doing one later this afternoon! Woohooo!!)
Maybe my body is preparing itself for something I don’t know is coming… Like going color blind…
I’m going to start with my personal favorite from the whole wedding and possibly one of my all-time favorites:
I was sadly unable to shoot or even attend Alisha’s wedding when she got married to her handsome husband earlier this summer. I was already booked for another wedding on her big day.
When I first met Alisha, she was one of the more depressed people I knew. Soon after we met and worked together on a few projects (all film projects at the time), she got divorced and went through a horrible separation process while I watched helplessly from the sidelines.
She was a wreck.
And I didn’t realize how much of a wreck she was until I saw her transform into the happiest version of Alisha I’ve ever known.
So what defines a person? What makes them who they are? Well. Sometimes, it’s another person.

Ahem…
Derek and Summer’s wedding was the third in a series of back to back weddings. It really was a blast! Yes, I was a little tired that weekend, but I feed off of people’s energy, and these guys’ wedding was dripping with it! Everyone, including the bride and groom, were out on the dance floor like nobody’s business and that just makes for a great time.
Also really interesting to me; Derek is a CSI. Yep, like the TV shows!
I’d like to humbly suggest to Hollywood producers to consider the following:
CSI: Salt Lake City
What?! You’ve already done all the major cities, time to branch out to the smaller ones! Just imagine CSI in teeny tiny towns. Like CSI: Mount Pleasant… Oh the irony!
Anyway, so Derek & Summer were really just awesome. As with anyone else, I try to stay in touch with them on Facebook, where Derek and I have exchanged some hilarious David Caruso clips.

When they booked me, Michael and Jessica insisted they were very awkward in front of cameras. I get brides and grooms like that every now and then. Even rookie models feel that way sometimes.
It’s my job to make that feeling disappear. I’d say they did pretty well
